September

It’s that time of year again, when everyone is bustling about getting ready for the holidays. Handmade gifts are probably on your to-do list, but when will you find the time? During the busy days to come, why not take a few minutes, a half hour or an hour or whatever amount of time you can find to relax and sew? If you can sew a little bit every day, you’ll have a project done before you know it.

August meeting

Another summer is winding down and  you’ll soon be spending more time indoors.  No doubt you’ll be thinking about the upcoming holidays. A common theme among quilters is this “Next year I’m going to start making my gifts early”. There is no time like the present! Start now and you’ll have a jump-start on the holidays giving a bit of peace to your mind.
Happy Quilting

Everyone needs a good bag to carry this and that in. A simple pattern that is fun to make and an afternoon project.

Getting ready for Christmas, this folded fabric wreath was a fun one to make the with Christmas getting put out it was fun shopping for the embellishments the bonus was finding the candy.

One block at a time and only 17 more to go. My UFO's are getting done one project at a time.

Fun Easter boxes to put your favorite rolls, or Easter eggs in. Anything can be put in them and they could be made out of different fabric for a fun container.

A table topper out of my 2nd UFO box, I did a practicing of my machine quilting skills, knowing I have a long way to go.

Halloween is just around the corner and I'm ready with my wreath, It will be a wonderful addition to my decorations.

One hand work at a time, one stitch at a time gets my projects done. My UFO box is slowing getting empty.

A scrap of ruffle fabric and a fun purse is made for that special occasion.

Another candle holder for a friend who deserve a little something.

I don't need to get organized, I just need a bigger sewing (craft) room.

July

Goals are like a “Shopping List” They remind us what is most important and keep us on track when we get distracted with all of the other choices that could use up our time, money and energy.  We don’t tend to give ourselves credit because of the long list that’s undone.  Journaling what’s happened in the past month helps us celebrate our successes, recognize your efforts and honor the truth that you can do hard things. Time to reflect is invaluable, find a quiet time soon, to check the direction you’re going and be sure to sit for awhile and enjoy how far you’ve come,

A dear friend moved away and to let her know that she is love and her friendship is cherished. A quilt was quilted and bound just for her. She was touched and she will truly be missed.

Playing around with the folded fabric wreath and shrunk it to fit a candle. An added bonus for our decorations.

My first of many fold fabric wreaths. I like this one a great addition to our 4th of July decoations.

Not only do I sew but I enjoy baking and cooking as well., With a bit of help from my handsome husband we made home made waffle cones for a church activitiy where we learned how to made ice cream in many different flavors.

A bonus for me is to get the chance to make clothing/ night gowns for my granddaughter. Who is all smiles and looks like a little princess.

Every quilter needs a fun portable ironing board, and pockets to store your favorite tools. This one is to a dear friend who is a big Wizard of Ozz fan.

Anyone for a game of yard Yatzee? We did this for another church activity. I have the instructions and happy to show you how to make one. It is a family favorite.

The red work center, I did the hand work on it and learned while I sewed. I had fun doing the had work for this.
